Assistance With Daily Living

At Greater Health Disability Services, our Assistance with Daily Living supports help NDIS participants maintain independence, build life skills and safely manage everyday activities in their home and community. We understand that daily tasks can sometimes be challenging. Our trained support workers provide respectful, reliable and person-centred support tailored to each participant’s individual needs, goals and preferences. Our aim is to empower participants to live as independently as possible while maintaining dignity, comfort and choice in their daily routines.

What Assistance with Daily Living Includes

Our support workers can assist with a wide range of everyday tasks, including:

 

  • Personal care (showering, grooming, dressing and hygiene)

  • Meal preparation and assistance with eating

  • Household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and tidying

  • Assistance with mobility and transfers

  • Medication reminders

  • Establishing and maintaining daily routines

  • Support with shopping and errands

  • Assistance with attending appointments

  • Support with community participation and activities

All supports are delivered in a way that promotes independence, confidence and skill development.

Flexible Support Options

Assistance with Daily Living can be provided in a range of environments depending on a participant’s needs, including:

  • In the participant’s home

  • In supported accommodation settings

  • In the community

Support can be delivered short-term, ongoing, or at specific times of the day, depending on what is included in the participant’s NDIS plan.
