Assistance with Transport
At Greater Health Disability Services, our Assistance with Transport supports help NDIS participants travel safely and reliably so they can access the community, attend appointments and participate in everyday activities. We understand that transportation can be a barrier to independence, and our goal is to ensure participants can stay connected to the services, opportunities and social activities that are important to them. Our transport supports are delivered in line with NDIS guidelines, focusing on helping participants build independence while ensuring safe and accessible travel options.
What Assistance with Transport Includes
Our support workers can assist participants with transportation to a range of activities and essential services, including:
Medical and health appointments
Therapy and allied health services
Work, training or educational programs
Community activities and social events
Grocery shopping and errands
Recreational and leisure activities
Visiting family and friends
Transport may be provided by a support worker accompanying the participant or by assisting them to access appropriate transport options.
Supporting Independence and Community Participation
Our transport supports are designed to do more than simply provide travel. We aim to help participants build confidence in accessing their community, learn how to use available transport options and participate in activities that support their goals and wellbeing.
Where appropriate, we can also assist participants to develop skills such as:
Planning travel routes
Using public transport
Attending activities independently
Managing appointments and schedules
